The Seagram building by Mies has large amounts of glass that we think of when we think of Mies. This amount of glass would have been difficult for any other previous generation to create because of the large amounts of glass that are used. By comparing this building to the likes of the Crystal Palace, yes it has a lot less ornament, but also it is similar in its use of glass
